How did the owners laud Wrexham women’s monumental achievement?

Surprisingly enough, the women’s team has achieved promotion before the men’s team. While all the limelight was on Ben Tozer and his team, the women’s counterpart has done the unthinkable. This time both the owners of the Welsh soccer club lauded the team for the incredible milestone. It’s fair to say that the Hollywood duo’s endless public support has also helped grow the team.

In an Instagram story, Ryan Reynolds wrote, “Wow. Wow. Wow. PROMOTION!!!!! So proud of this club”. Along with the Hollywood duo, even Blake Lively was present at the Racecourse Ground. 9,511 people witnessed the historical event in Wrexham’s history in person. The attendance at this game broke the previous record of 5,175 supporters by a long way.

McElhenney also joined the bandwagon and praised Wrexham women for securing promotion. On Twitter he wrote, “ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. CONGRATULATIONS @WrexhamAFCWomen!!!!!!!”. Surprisingly, one goal was enough for Wrexham Woman to win the playoff final.

Wrexham women faced Briton Ferry in the playoff final. Rebecca Pritchard’s lone goal was enough to secure the Welsh soccer club promotion to the Adran Premier. Adran Premier is the topmost flight of women’s soccer in Wales. However, Ferry had one chance to equalize the scoreline toward the end.

But a stunning save by Wrexham’s keeper Delyth Morgan played a vital role in keeping the clean sheet and winning the game. Also, this isn’t the first time a Wrexham goalie is bailing the Welsh soccer club out of a do-or-die situation. It is safe to say that the whole stadium went berserk after the full-time whistle. While the celebrations go on in the women’s camp, the men’s team is just three wins away from securing automatic promotion to the EFL League Two.
