Lionel Messi bid farewell to PSG on Saturday after playing his last game. However, the game resulted in a 3-2 defeat, but PSG already won the Ligue 1 title. Now the question remains, what next for the Argentine?

The future of Messi is heavily discussed recently, with a billion-dollar deal on the table from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. FC Barcelona also wants to bring their talisman back, but FFP is the major obstacle. David Beckham’s Inter Miami also sent their bid for the Argentine. With his future still in the air, an avid Arsenal fan has given a valuable piece of advice to Messi.

Darren Bent is a hard-core Arsenal fan. Recently he spoke to talkSPORT after Messi leaving PSG was confirmed. Bent thinks returning to Barcelona is the most suitable option for the Argentine. He said“I think the only place Lionel Messi needs to go is back home – and that’s Barcelona. That’s the only place I want to see him. That’s the only thing that would make sense. It’s where he became the best ever.”

Bent is not a fan of the idea of Messi joining the Premier League. And he has reasons for it. When asked about it, he said, “Do I want to see Messi in the Premier League? Do you know what? I wouldn’t, now. He is the greatest player that has ever lived, but I feel like people would try to pick too many faults in him – like what’s happened in France.”

The Gunners’ fan thinks there will be unnecessary Cristiano Ronaldo comparisons. “He’d be on a hiding to nothing. He’d come over to England, and people would make any excuse to hammer him, say Cristiano Ronaldo was better, all this,” Bent added.

The speculations will go on until there’s a decision from Lionel Messi’s camp.
