All teams will strive to lift the prestigious trophy after the season ends. Moreover, keeping the cup for a day is another tradition that the players must be excited about.
Will Ferrell reveals plan for the MLS Cup
Talking about celebrations, many people have different ideas in mind as to how they’re going to celebrate. Usually, some drink from the cup or show it to their families, given the tradition of spending a day with the trophy.
However, LAFC co-owner Will Ferrell has a rather different idea for the celebration. During a post-match interview, the Hollywood star was asked about what he’ll do if he gets a chance to spend a day with a trophy.

“I probably would take it around the world with me, I would show it to everyone who wanted to look at it, I’d have to explain to a lot of people what it was.” This wasn’t the end of the agenda for the star actor.
“I probably would go around the world baptizing babies in it,” said Ferrell. “That would be the goal, yes. Filled with holy water and a little Coors Light. Then no one would have ever done that before. I think that’s something that hasn’t been done with the Cup.”
It was quite a hilarious response from the anchorman. When LAFC won the cup last year, Ferrell celebrated the win by drinking from the cup. Perhaps this time he is tailoring new ideas for celebration if they win.
The 55-year-old has been a part of star-sprinkled ownership with the likes of Magic Johnson, Nomar Garciaparra, and Mia Hamm. The American superstar has been a loyal supporter of the MLS side, and he also went on a recruiting trip to the Premier League.
Emphatic win at BMO
Los Angeles FC also opened the season on a good note by securing a win against Portland Timbers. The Black and Gold hosted a 5-goal thriller against the Timbers, as they won 3-2.

Veteran defender George Chiellini scored his first goal for his side, as both Carlos Vela and Kwadwo got their names on the scoresheet. Speaking of the other party, goals from Evander and Cristhian Paredes were not enough for the Timbers.
