Who would have thought the COVID pandemic could change the fortunes of a lower-division Welsh club named Wrexham AFC? It was during that break Rob McElhenney decided to buy a soccer club. He got a partner in Ryan Reynolds through Instagram chats, and one Zoom meeting with Wrexham Supporters Trust got them ownership of the club.
Since the Hollywood takeover for $2.5 million on February 9, 2021, the club has seen a 300% rise in the valuation. The docuseries Welcome To Wrexham, sponsorship deals like TikTok and Expedia, and the rise in the fanbase have been the reasons behind the massive increase in valuation.
Now there’s another big news for the Red Dragons after getting a promotion. Odds favor them to make another promotion next season ahead of some famous League Two clubs.

Now SkyBet has come with good news for the world’s third-oldest soccer club. As per their recent odds, Ryan Reynolds’ club is the favorite to get a promotion to League One, the third division of English soccer. They are ahead of their fiercest National League rivals, Notts County, who are second on the list.
The Welsh club has also surpassed Salford City FC in the odds. Salford City is well known for its owners. A famous Manchester United Class of 92 owns the club.
