Wrexham AFC owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, recently hinted they could visit the town this weekend. Both men’s and women’s teams are playing this weekend at the Racecourse Stadium, with the women’s team close to creating history while the men’s team takes another step toward the title. 

Wrexham AFC Women have already wrapped the title and are looking to create a history for record attendance on Sunday. They have already sold over 6000 tickets, and the owners have urged the fans to fill the stadium completely, hinting at their presence for the game.

It will be interesting to see how fans respond to the appeal from the owner to fill the stadium. One day earlier, the men’s team will take on York City in another crucial game in the title race. 

Wrexham AFC could hit three figures for goals scored

The world’s third-oldest club is ready to take on 18th-placed York City in another significant tie. It will take place at Racecourse Stadium on Saturday, presenting an opportunity to Wrexham to go six points clear of Notts County. Meanwhile, Wrexham and Notts County are both on 97 goals, and it will be interesting to see who gets to the three figures first. 

The Vanarama National League title race is entering its final stages. Both the title rivals are not ready to give up, with second-placed County keeping pressure on the league leaders. The County will visit Wrexham in a few days with the game labeled as the title decider by the fans. 

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson still feels the title race is open. He wants his team to be focused and win the remaining games. They are on a 26-game unbeaten run in the league and will hope to continue. On the other hand, Notts County manager Luke Williams has given up the title race. He twice claimed in recent weeks that it is over.  

Will new signing Ben Foster be able to take part in the game?

The former England international goalkeeper, Ben Foster, has come out of retirement to rejoin Wrexham AFC after over 17 years. His first spell at the club came in 2005 when they were playing in League One, the third tier of English soccer. He won the Football League Trophy with the club.

With an injury to the first-choice goalkeeper, Rob Lainton, the club owners, approached the veteran, and he joined the club. The eyes of the fans will be on whether Foster starts in the game against York City. Foster has been out of action since his retirement announcement in September 2022 and might not participate in the game. But Wrexham will take the pitch with determination to win all three points, taking a step closer to the title.
