Getting straight to the point. Soccer attendances. This is an issue the U.S. Soccer Federation has tried to solve for a long time. Despite bringing in Lionel Messi, Inter Miami games host a healthy attendance. LAFC as well with top players in the team. The rest of the clubs? Nah. With Mauricio Pochettino now leading the USMNT, he would surely love more attendance numbers at the stadium. I mean, who wants to play in an empty stadium?
Considering everything, Oguchi Onyewu, the USMNT defender, currently serves as the Vice President of Sporting for the United States. He has traveled around St. Louis to market the Nations League game in November. The head coach will play a two-legged quarterfinal against an opponent they will schedule in the future. Wanting support from the fans, Onyewu wants the stadium to be filled with Star and Stripes jerseys.
The game will happen at the CITY PARK, a 22,500-seater stadium, and looks to ensure full attendance for the match. The USMNT stadium is currently grappling with the issue of empty seats at the stadiums. With the 2026 World Cup arriving in two years, they need to get the fans behind the team.

Significantly, we understand why fans could be skeptical about attending matches. Years of underperformance and mediocre gameplay forced most fans to let go of supporting the team. Players have come in and gone. Many have noted that the Golden Generation didn’t fulfill the lofty expectations surrounding them. Thus, it’s time for the team to prepare well for the upcoming World Cup. With Mauricio Pochettino coming to the team, he can certainly get discipline to the side. Hence, we cannot wait for the coach to take over the reins.
Mauricio Pochettino will set culture and discipline to USMNT!
Just look at the Gio Reyna situation. Gregg Berhalter dropped him after issues with his parents getting involved. Moreover, other common cases dampened the progress of the USMNT. Hence, things look promising now with Pochettino at the helm. The Argentina coach will probably bring discipline to the squad. Getting the best out of players like Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie becomes crucial for his job.

These two talented players underperformed for several years. They play in the European leagues as they remain the benchmark for most athletes because of their standing in the game. But there are other players too. Yunus Musah is a sensational talent who continues to develop each passing year. Personally, I would suggest Mauricio Pochettino builds the team around him because he is an all-action midfielder.
There is excitement, USMNT fans. Don’t give up hope on your team. You have a world-class coach to lead the team. Thus, he needs your support. Are you excited about his debut match?
