Lionel Messi is making rounds after his announcement to join MLS club Inter Miami FC. The Argentine rejected an offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal that would have made him the highest-paid athlete by a margin. With uncertainties over his registration, Messi also declined a reunion with FC Barcelona.
David Beckham made smart moves and landed the seven-time Ballon d’Or at Miami. It proved to be a ground-breaking deal as Inter Miami trumped MLS, MLB, and NFL teams in Instagram following within 24 hours. Beckham’s club is the talk of the town now.
However, there are questions raised after the Messi announcement. The most important of them is the capacity of Inter Miami Stadium. But there seems to be a solution to this problem. Let us take a detailed look at how the club is working to find the answer.

Will Lionel Messi play at DRV PNK Stadium?
After Messi announced his decision, Inter Miami star raised a realistic question. The club’s goalkeeper Nick Marsman made a bold statement that the club isn’t ready to welcome the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. He feels the club’s home ground is too small for the stature of Messi, and Marsman feels facilities are not too sound.
Marsman has a valid question, though. With a capacity of 18,000, the stadium where Inter Miami plays its home matches isn’t an ideal situation to see Messi play. It means the club will miss out on massive ticket revenue by hosting the games at DRV PNK Stadium. However, as per US soccer insider Doug McIntyre, it isn’t the case.

McIntyre spoke to FOX Soccer recently and gave insights on what Beckham and MLS are doing. Beckham and MLS are in discussion with the $4.6 billion worth of NFL team Miami Dolphins. They want to reach an agreement with the Dolphins over hosting a few Inter Miami games at Hard Rock Stadium. The capacity of the stadium is slightly over 65,000.

Beckham is already working on the billion-dollar Miami Freedom Park, a new home ground for Inter Miami. The 25,000-capacity ground will take some time, and the Manchester United legend feels the Hard Rock Stadium is an appropriate venue till then.
According to McIntyre, Beckham, and MLS are confident of filling the 65,000-seater stadium of the Dolphins. And why not? After all, Lionel Messi will be playing in those games. We have already seen the impact of the Argentine on the fan following of the club and ticket sales. It looks like a feasible solution to cash in on Messi. But only time will tell whether Messi will make his debut at Hard Rock Stadium.
