Cristiano Ronaldo is currently enjoying his time away from soccer as the Saudi League is on break. However, this has not stopped his mother from following the other matches. She is currently keeping an eye on one of the former teams that her son played in. In the absence of the Al Nassr star, she wished for the Portuguese soccer side, Sporting Lisbon, for their upcoming match.

It became a noble gesture from Dolores Aveiro, supporting one team her son used to play for. It also shows the loyalty and respect the family of the Portuguese star has for the club.

There have been times when some players have spoken about the unpleasant experiences while playing for their former club. Sometimes, the parents and their relatives also joined the players in criticizing clubs. It has led to many relationships beyond repair. However, the case of Cristiano Ronaldo and his former club Sporting CP is unusual. The Al Nassr star and his mother have a great relationship with the Portuguese giants. Ahead of their game against Tondela in the Cup competition, she shared her photo in a Sporting CP shirt on Instagram. The caption was, “Good morning, good luck, friends. We are always together.”

It is not the first time she has shown her support for the boyhood club of Cristiano Ronaldo. Previously, in an Instagram post, she had posted that the Portuguese giants will always remain in her heart. The Al Nassr star played 31 games for the club, scoring five goals. But his performance against Manchester United for Sporting CP helped him get a move to the Red Devils.

The green and white stripes are an old chapter for the 38-year-old. But, for Dolores, the club has stayed in her heart. Hence, the media has also linked him back to Portugal several times.
