Popular Analyst is happy after Inter Miami’s China tour gets called off

Inter Miami is trying to become a global presence in the soccer world after the signing of Lionel Messi. This is also because Messi has millions of followers from all over the world. Hence, the MLS club made the plan to travel to China in the pre-season this month for two friendlies. This is also after their play-off race came to an end this season. However, due to multiple reasons, including the death of Former Premier Li Keqiang along with security and, logistical reasons, the China tour of the MLS club was canceled. However, popular journalist Julien Laurens seemed quite satisfied with the fact that this off-season tour was called off.

Julien Laurens has also questioned the decision to go to China in the first place. While speaking on Gabs and Juls show on ESPN, he further said,

“Why will Messi go to China?” I’m glad that they canceled. It is not happening anymore, and now they can properly prepare for what should be an exciting season really coming up for Inter Miami with Messi in the team and Suarez on his way”.

He continued, “You

know this is because we’ve hardly seen Messi really in MLS; we saw him in the League Cup but not in MLS. Yeah, in the MLS Cup, but only in the two domestic cups, not in the league really, so let’s get excited and let’s forget about China”.

Inter Miami is now likely to continue training at their regular training complex ahead of the new season. On the other hand, the Argentine soccer veteran has big matches coming up for the Argentina national team. Hence, the cancelation of the tour does look like a blessing in disguise, or does it?

No off-season tour minimizes injury threats to Lionel Messi

The Argentina national team management will also feel relieved with the cancellation of the friendlies in China. This is also because of the high chance that Lionel Messi can have an injury during the games. The Argentine missed several games for the MLS club because of a minor hamstring issue. This impacted Inter Miami badly as they lost their late-playoff clutch and also the final in the US Open Cup. However, the national team luckily escaped the issue as he recovered and helped Argentina win their games against Peru and Paraguay.
