ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno took a dig at Kylian Mbappe playing as a playmaker last night against Dortmund. The former player questioned the Frenchman for not using his speed to get past Dortmund defender Matt Hummels. “For the life of me, I can’t figure out why Mbappe is trying to play make, trying to play a sort of like a number 10 and kind of in between the lines,” he said. The pundit then questioned Mbappe for not using his speed to exploit Dortmund’s defense back-and-forth.
While backing him as a ‘great and one-of-a-kind talent,’ Moreno urged Mbappe to stop proving that he’s capable of playmaking. “Why this playmaking? Get in behind and utilize that speed and be successful, efficient, and effective for your team,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, despite PSG qualifying for the round of 16, the 24-year-old wasn’t satisfied, and Luis Enrique explained his discontent.
