Since taking over Wrexham AFC in 2021, Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have done wonders for the once-struggling fifth-division English soccer club. The club has not only gained a lot of popularity, but it has also performed well on the field.

In their inaugural season of the duo’s takeover in 2021-22, Wrexham finished an impressive second place. And now, in the latest season, the club is just three points behind the table leaders and eyeing a league title and promotion to the fourth division – with two games less played.
Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham demolishes soccer field
It’s clear that Reynolds and McElhenney have put hard work into the team and they are still investing, as evidenced by their latest decision to demolish one of the popular stands knowns as the Kop of the club’s stadium to renovate it.

Rob McElhenney also took to Twitter to share a picture of the renovations taking place at the stand, along with a heartwarming message. He said, “Goodbye old girl. You will not be forgotten. Hopefully that’s promotion at the end of your rainbow “
The iconic Kop stand is being demolished to make way for new stands. The decision to demolition had been on the minds of club officials for years. As the stand was crumbling and falling apart. But it was the acting duo that made this renovation possible. While also adding an extra 5,500 seats in the process.

Although the stand is iconic and has a lot of sentimental value, the decision was made for the greater good.
