He first cited the extremely inspirational story of Michael B. Jordan-owned Bournemouth who were on the verge of going bankrupt, but turned things around under Eddie Howe and achieved promotion. The gaffer also lauded Blackpool for their efforts.

“Years ago Bournemouth, under Eddie Howe, were on the brink of going out of business, and got into the Premier League,” said Parkinson. “Blackpool have also got into the Premier League, so there’s lots of examples. So why not Wrexham?” asked the gaffer.
Michael B. Jordan shares the reason behind investing in Bournemouth
At the end of last year, Michael B. Jordan was announced as the minority owner of Dorset-based Premier League team Bournemouth. The Creed actor is miles away from the soccer world; hence his association naturally raised questions.

Earlier this year at The Graham Norton Show, the Black Panther actor was quipped about his decision to invest in Bournemouth. In reply, the actor simply said potential. “It is crazy and amazing. One reason I wanted to invest is that there was so much potential there,” he told viewers.

He continued: “If you give to the community, and you have new managers and new players, you can raise the culture of the team. It’s exciting.” It’s great to see more American celebrities invest in European soccer clubs, as this slowly builds American soccer culture. If things continue this way, it won’t be too far of a day when we see USMNT as favorites for the World Cup.
