Saudi Arabia has been in the limelight since a blockbuster Cristiano Ronaldo move in January. Also, the Saudi Pro League clubs have been linked with European superstars like Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, and Sergio Ramos, amongst others. Now, reports link a former Real Madrid manager with a move to Saudi Arabia in a potential reunion with Ronaldo.

The Gulf country is making some audacious moves off late. They first signed Messi as a brand ambassador for Saudi Arabia tourism. After the deal, they landed Ronaldo to play for Al Nassr FC. The nation is making big moves to win a bid to host the 2030 or 2034 FIFA World Cup. Saudi Arabia wants to bring one of the most successful managers in a massive deal with whom Ronaldo once wanted to reunite.?

Massive offer from Saudi Arabia for Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho is managing AS Roma currently. The reports from Italy suggest that the Portuguese has been unhappy with the transfer policy of Roma and might look out for a new club. Many clubs are interested in ‘The Special One’ in the summer.

Corriere dello Sport via Record reported Saudi Arabia is interested in the AS Roma manager. Their offer is $124 million over two years for the Portuguese, as per reports. The initial offer is to take up the Saudi Arabia national team job for the next two years with an option to extend till 2026 when FIFA World Cup will take place in North America.?

The position is vacant after Herve Renard became the France women’s team manager. There’s a twist in this offer, too. He can also become the manager of the Saudi Pro League club, with Al Nassr being preferable if he doesn’t want to take the national team job. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in summer.?

Cristiano Ronaldo would be happy to reunite with Mourinho

Cristiano Ronaldo played under Mourinho at Real Madrid. Mourinho joined Madrid in 2010, a year after Ronaldo joined. It was one of the best versions of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner under Mourinho in those two seasons at Madrid. Ronaldo once said he would be happy to play with the accomplished coach again.

A few years back, he said,?“Work with Mourinho again? Why not? I would put him at the top, I always say that. I have played for so many great coaches, but Jose Mourinho was a big thinker analytically. He went into everything in great detail.”?
