Sometimes it’s just better to let things unfold rather than jump the gun. France’s Adrien Rabiot might have learned the message the hard way with fans mocking the Frenchman for his pre-match comments concerning Spain’s wonder kid Lamine Yamal. While things could have turned out differently, Rabiot found himself toyed with as Yamal registered his first-ever goal in the Euros.
Adrien Rabiot spoke on Lamine Yamal’s rise before the semi-final clash against the two sides. The Frenchman stated, “We saw that he was a player who knew how to handle pressure very well. He has a lot of qualities. He is capable of playing with his qualities at club level as well as in major tournaments, without pressure. But it will be up to us to put the pressure on him above all, not to let him feel comfortable and to show him that to play in a Euro final, he will have to do much more than what he has done so far.”

However, it seems Lamine Yamal took his words to heart with the Spaniard dribbling past Rabiot to register his first goal in the competition. The first half of the game saw the teenager dribble past French players before faking Rabiot as he curled the ball past Mike Maignan into the back of the net.
