Al Nassr never imagined being in the tremulous situation they currently find themselves in. Not long had passed when they lost the Saudi Super Cup final to Al Hilal, and the Knights of the Najd saw their president Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib resign from his post. But why would the Saudi chief choose such a shocking decision? And this happens when Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. are entangled in some serious domestic troubles?
On Saturday, Al Nassr lost yet another chance to secure the trophy, and on Tuesday, Al-Muhaidib quickly took to X to address his decision to step down. As translated with DeepL.com, Mr. President wrote, “It is in the best interest of the Nasrawi entity the club should be managed by one entity and be responsible for it in front of everyone. The existence of two administrations may disrupt the success of the club.”
Adding a bit of hope and a bright future, Al-Muhaidib, added, “Therefore, in the interest of the club, I submit my resignation. I’m sure the situation will change for the better with one administration running the club. I will continue to support everyone who works to serve the club. Good luck to our global fans💛” From this message, what catches the eyes of many is the existence of not one but two administrations, so what’s that about?

Well, as stated by @TheNassrZone on X, Sultan Al-Ghasyan’s appointment as director of the Al Nassr Channel was one factor that infuriated Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib. It ultimately led to the President’s resignation. Since the arrival of Al-Ghasyan, Al-Muhaidib felt a bit micromanagement-ed, with the powers being divided further.
This must have made things difficult. It eventually forced Mr. Ibrahim to take the tough call and leave Al Nassr without a president. It remains to be seen who they bring as Al-Muhaidib’s replacement. It’s not just the management that’s the problem; the issue extends to the locker room too.

Luis Castro edges to getting axed as disappointment continues for Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Ronaldo's underwhelming performance lead to Al Nassr's president stepping down? What's your take?
Have an interesting take?
While Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib left Al Nassr on his own terms, Luis Castro might be forced to pack his bag by the team itself. Under the guidance of the Portuguese tactician, the Riyadh-based club hasn’t achieved any significant trophy. They only won the Arab Club Cup of Champions before kicking off the last season. Following that, things went disastrous for Al Nassr losing the Roshn Saudi League. Moreover, the Saudi Cup, and getting knocked out of the AFC Champions League quarterfinals adds to the list of failures.
The baggage of last season’s disappointment not just remains on the head of Al Nassr, but more specifically on Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Manchester United star is yet to prove his arrival in the Saudi Arabian capital for the team. Yet, he achieved some individual milestones as well. However, fans would be more interested in seeing CR7 leading the team to major silverware.

Already, they began a rather bland preseason, losing three and drawing one game out of their four friendly clashes. That poor buildup saw them defeat Al Taawoun 2-0 in the Saudi Super Cup semi-finals, only to lose the final 4-1 at the hands of Al Hilal. If things remain the same, then Luis Castro is in serious trouble. We are curious to see the team’s developments.
