Drake left soccer fans scratching their heads yesterday. The renowned Canadian rapper gave credit to ‘K. De Bruyne’ for writing his latest song, ‘Wick Man’. Hilariously, some fans blindly believed that the soccer star had brought out his hidden talent. However, that’s not the case here. He was not talking about the most popular K. De Bruyne of the current times, who is Manchester City’s Belgian star midfielder. Hence comes the obvious question: who is the ‘K. De’ Bryune’ Drake is referring to?

For many, it was hard to believe that a Champions League-winning midfielder would collaborate with Drake as a songwriter. When rumors of the same began to spread like wildfire alongside many funny memes, the Belgian star himself came forward and cleared the air. He made it clear that he never associated with the ‘One Dance’ singer. Now, let’s look into who it really was.

The fans took the internet by storm, believing that the Belgian star wrote the lyrics for Drake. Later, De Bryune took to X and wrote, “All jokes aside, it’s not me! Huge fan though!” Soon after this, it came to light that Drake was giving credit to a musician named Koen De Bruyne, who died 46 years ago. The 1978 album ‘In Kluis’ had a song called ‘Landscape,’ which was sampled for the ‘Scary Hours 3’ track.

Interestingly, there was a Belgian cult movie of the same name, ‘In Kluis’, for which Koen De Bruyne composed the soundtrack. The movie tells the story of a guy who lived in the ruins of an old castle and spied on a young couple. Unfortunately, the renowned musician passed away before the film’s release.

Consequently, ‘In Kluis’ is the last work of De Bryune, which he never got to take to the audience. The soundtrack composed by him had a haunting collection of music that perfectly complimented the film’s eerie atmosphere. These revelations made it clear that Drake was giving credit to the right person who was highly connected to the world of music, and it’s not the soccer star. Meanwhile, the Belgian star recently made a crucial decision regarding his soccer career.
