Not all possess the quality and charm of Thomas Muller. A one-of-a-kind player, the German international enjoyed a remarkable domestic and international career. While it’s Raumdeuter’s unique set of skills that often take center stage, certainly it is built on the intangible support of others. Today, we will dive deeper to learn more about Muller’s wife and professional dressage rider, Lisa Muller, and the story of how she once had to apologize to her husband’s coach.
Meet Thomas Muller’s wife, Lisa Muller
Lisa Trede, now Lisa Muller, was born on September 21, 1989, in Weinheim, Oberbayern, Germany. Not only does she share the same birthday month with Thomas, who was born on September 13, 1989, but they were also born in the same place. The love birds first crossed paths with each other in 2007 and later in 2009, they tied after Muller had already made a breakthrough in Bayern Munich’s first team setup.

Unfortunately, there is not much information regarding Lisa’s parents or siblings. Regardless, it is believed that she hails from a well-to-do family and took advantage of the best opportunities to complete her education at reputed institutes in Germany. However, her fondness for horses since childhood encouraged her to become a professional horse rider. Boasting over 220K followers on Instagram as of June 2024, she further cemented quite a successful career as a dressage rider.
The 34-year-old accomplished a lot, with a major highlight being able to win a silver medal in the Bavarian U25 state competition held back in July 2014. Moreover, on November 16, 2019, Lisa clinched third place in the Stuttgart German Masters which saw her earn a place in the German Masters. Aside from contesting in various tournaments, she works as a horse trainer. Both Thomas and Lisa own a horse farm, and the Bayern star has a favorite horse named, ‘Dave.’
Interestingly, just years ago, they even received the status of EU Insemination Station for 2021. This apparently allowed them to sell horse semen to become millionaire horse breeders. While they were criticized by global animal-based NGO, PETA, for allegedly conducting unfavorable practices with their horse, there was no such proof to further build a case. But that wasn’t the end of the problems, as Lisa was also forced to apologize to Thomas’ coach.

Niko Kovac was in charge of Bayern Munich between 2018-2020. That period usually saw the Croatian leave Thomas Muller on the bench, with a 2018 Bundesliga fixture against Freiburg being no exception as the Bavarians were held 1-1. Even though Thomas was finally deployed beyond the hour mark, it left her significant other in disbelief. Lisa took a dig at Kovac and added a story on Instagram, writing, “More than 70 minutes until he finally has a brain wave.”

Though Thomas Muller tried to cool off the situation while addressing the press, days later Bayern released an official statement that she paid a visit to Kovac at Allianz Arena after the game and offered her apology. Likewise, the former Monaco boss had accepted her earnest apology, eventually putting the saga to bed forever.
