In December 2021, after a match against Famalicao, Nicolas Otamendi returned to his home not knowing the horror that awaited him. As he entered the house, four assailants attacked him. After this, they forced him to open a door where Celeste and the kids were being held. Trapped by a belt, the defender was hopeless as his loved ones panicked in front of him.
Fortunately, no one got hurt in the incident. The robbers have reportedly left with over $250k worth of watches, jewelry and cash. Although nothing has emerged of the culprits since perhaps Nicolas Otamendi and his family would prefer to leave the incident behind altogether.
