It is not new or rare for celebrities to invest in football clubs, but over the last few years, more and more of them have entered that world, bringing a fresh edge to it. And from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney‘s takeover at Wrexham AFC to the string of high-profile names joining club ownership elsewhere, it has been beyond doubt.

The latest famous face looking to make a mark on the English football scene is A$AP Rocky. Reports have linked the well-known musician, A$AP Rocky, to a takeover attempt for League Two team Tranmere Rovers. This buyout ”” thought to be around $15m ”” will put Tranmere on a fresh path and could have implications throughout British football.

A$AP Rocky has led the charge on possible new ownership at Tranmere Rovers, but he is by no means the only one involved in this endeavor. He is part of a group led by celebrity sports lawyer Joe Tacopina that has been active in other deals. The inclusion of Tacopina within the party adds credibility and legal weight to their bid to take over.

Nevertheless, there are suggestions that the group includes individuals with vast amounts of money and an avid love for football. The mooted 15 million cookie value put on the proposed 80% takeover also indicates a readiness of investors to pump their own money into Tranmere Rovers.

Will A$AP Rocky's involvement in Tranmere Rovers revolutionize the club's future or just be a passing fad?

There are rumors that the group is also planning a documentary series, similar to “Welcome to Wrexham,” which could further raise the club’s profile. Completing the deal, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky’s partner, will join him at Tranmere matches. The offer comes as Tranmere looks for fresh investment ahead of future plans to redevelop the club.

Nigel Adkins hails ‘hard-fought’ win as Tranmere sees off Bromley

Nigel Adkins praised his Tranmere team’s spirit after they won 2-1 against Bromley to get back to winning ways. Louis Dennis scored deep into stoppage time, but it would only serve as a consolation goal, as Rovers secured the points with two late goals from Omari Patrick and Harvey Saunders.

It was a hard-fought victory today. We know that we have a team that competes, and we had to against a robust Bromley side. I asked them to stand toe to toe, and they did that today. We were rewarded for that with a couple of good goals from Omari and Harvey,” said Adkins.

The defeat extended Bromley’s winless run to nine games to leave them just above the bottom two, and Ravens manager Andy Woodman did not hide his frustration at the result.

We had so many chances today and didn’t put them away, and you can’t do that,” he said.

The goals we gave away were embarrassing and frustrating. You look at the balance of the game, Grant Smith had one serious save to make, and we’ve come away with a defeat. We have no option now other than to dig deep, and I trust my players to dig deep.”

However, in the midst of all of this talk about a potential takeover, Rovers have to focus on their League Two home game against Grimsby Town on Tuesday.
