Can Leah Williamson outshine Emma Hayes in their next face-off? Who's your pick for the win?

Leah Williamson has led Arsenal from the front for the best part of her career. The captain of England loves interesting match-ups and became a rock-solid defender for the North London club. However, she couldn’t win multiple trophies due to one serial winner: Emma Hayes.

Significantly, Hayes put the Women’s Super League on the map during her time at Chelsea. She is the Pep Guardiola of women’s soccer or one can say, Pep is the Hayes of men’s soccer! Williamson, though, is ready to give her a warm welcome after her Olympic gold medal victory.

Notably, England will face the USWNT on November 30th in an international friendly. The old-time rivals, Hayes and Williamson, will square up against each other to establish dominance. For years, Hayes’ Chelsea and Williamson’s Arsenal battled in feisty games. Therefore, Williamson detailed the eagerly anticipated contest and aimed to lock horns again.

In an interview with the Guardian, she noted, “It’s funny, I’ve grown up as a rival to her my whole professional career and then she just goes to the next [big rivalry, England v USA].” Both these nations are the two top soccer nations in the world. Thus, their friendly meet-up could get gritty with many rivals present in the team. Yet, Williamson acknowledged she is a game legend and will get the reception she deserves.

She continued, “I think she’ll get a fantastic reception when she comes back [to play England in a friendly at Wembley in November], which adds a little bit of spice to a game. They’re on fire. I’m relishing that game.” It would be a contest for ages because of their rivalry in club soccer.
