Historically, Portugal has been a country blessed with some of the greatest talents to have graced the soccer world. Despite being home to greats like Deco, Luis Figo, Eusebio, and Mario Coluna, Cristiano Ronaldo is still considered the greatest to have come out of Portugal. Now that the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner is at the fag end of his career, the general sentiment in Portugal earmarks Joao Felix to be his successor.
The young Portuguese prodigy, however, has hardly made the desired impact. Marred with injuries and attitude issues, the 23-year-old hasn’t made the desired impact since the big-money move to Atletico Madrid. With reports of the youngster forcing a move away from Wanda Metropolitana, his club legend has come to his rescue explaining the problems behind Felix’s disappointing run so far.

Even though Juanfran left Atletico before Felix was signed, the former left-back still managed to forge contacts with the Portuguese. Speaking with Rubén Uría on Twitch, the Atletico legend was asked to share his thoughts on Los Rojiblancos’ biggest problem currently – Joao Felix. The Spaniard first cleared the rumors of Felix’s attitude issues by calling him a ‘good guy’. He then felt that more than Felix, it was the people in his camp who are ruining him. He believed that if people around him compare him with Cristiano, he is bound to have trouble.
“He’s a good guy. But when you have people close to you who tell you that, when Ronaldo is not there, you are the Cristiano of the National Team, or who think that he guarantees a place in Atletico to walk… They put this in his head and that’s not good for one for such a young boy,” said the 38-year-old Juanfran.

Despite getting sacked from Al Nassr last year, Rudi Garcia managed to bounce back immediately as he was immediately signed by Serie A champions Napoli. After his initial training sessions, the Spaniard made a bold claim. Speaking at a press conference, Garcia likened star striker Victor Osimhen to Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Victor is a crazy dragger: he wants to win and drags the team,” he told DAZN Heroes [via FootballItalia]. “A bit like Cristiano Ronaldo: when he wins he’s delighted; he calls the team, he wants to take a souvenir photo…” said the Spaniard elated to have Osimhen at his disposal.
