The summer transfer window is here and Al Nassr is already out with their massive wad of cash. According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo‘s side is keen on reuniting him with one of his former teammates. Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly in touch with the Knights of Najd over a potential move to Saudi Arabia. While nothing is concrete as of now, Al Nassr has promised the Polish international a big wage, something that has been Saudi Arabia’s transfer strategy, when signing European stars.

It comes as no surprise that Cristiano Ronaldo holds the title of the highest-paid player at Al Nassr. The Portuguese captain commands a $220 million salary at the Middle Eastern club. Compared to CR7, his teammates aren’t anywhere close to his numbers. Sadio Mane is on 2nd with earnings of $45 million. Aymeric Laporte and Marcelo Brozovic share the spot with incomes of $27 million each.

According to reports, Wojciech Szczesny has been offered a two-year contract worth $40 million. Szczesny’s arrival will push Otavio, who currently earns $14 million per season at Al Nassr down the earnings ladder. While Juventus would hate to see the keeper leave, getting an odd $30 million for a 34-year-old is not a terrible deal. Especially with the club already identifying their next shot-stopper! Juventus has already shortlisted Monza’s Michele Di Gregorio as their next shot-stopper. The Old Lady has been a long-time admirer of the keeper and could offer $22 million for his services. Meanwhile, it would be an adroit move for Szczesny who’s at the twilight of his career.

Who doesn’t want to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo? Szczesny praised Cristiano following the latter’s Juventus exit stating, “A brilliant footballer, who makes a difference not only on the pitch. I don’t know if there is anyone in the world at his level. When he arrived, however, we didn’t see him as CR7, but as a teammate.”

He continued, “With him, however, I tried things that didn’t exist. I’ve never heard from other players: entering the pitch with him, even before the referee whistled the start, it was like being 1-0 ahead. It was impressive.”

It seems like Wojciech Szczesny loved every minute of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. His addition could be a monumental boost for Al Nassr, who has struggled between the posts.
