David Beckham is undoubtedly the go-to textbook for many hair stylists around the world. Ever since Becks shot to stardom, each year has seen a different hairstyle from him. And all those haircuts, even a bald one, is a superhit. Recently, Argentina and Atletico Madrid star Rodrigo De Paul has gone to the ‘Beckham’s book of haircuts’ to do his hair. De Paul now flaunts dodgy locks similar to DB’s sensational 2003 hairstyle. However, the Argentine’s makeover has not gone well with Beckham’s newest employee, Luis Suarez.

Amid all the frenzy of reuniting with his Barcelona pals at Inter Miami, Luis Suarez did not fail to notice his ex-teammate Rodrigo De Paul’s new look. The Miami striker was quick to throw a jibe at his ex-teammate, subtly telling him to undo his hair ‘for God’s sake.’

Last night, Rodrigo De Paul’s Atletico Madrid defeated Sevilla in a La Liga clash. De Paul took to Instagram, savoring the win and also flaunting his new braids. Luis Suarez quickly saw this and commented, “What is happening to you? For God’s sake…,” and added a laughing emoji. Suarez might have deleted the comment. But the jibe is now doing rounds on the web, courtesy of beIN Sports USA’s Instagram reel. This, however, is not the first time Rodrigo De Paul has chosen a Beckham-esque hairstyle and caught all the attention.

Prior to Argentina’s triumphant World Cup campaign, De Paul did his hair like the Inter Miami owner. Appearing for Argentina’s training session in Miami, De Paul did his hair platinum, similar to Becks. Then, ex-Argentine star Sergio Aguero noticed the uncanny resemblance between De Paul and DB. However, the platinum is not as sensational as Beckham’s braids, which have influenced De Paul right now. That hairstyle has caused quite the stir in the soccer world.

Crazy stories around Becks’ braids

David Beckham’s 2003 braids haircut was voted as the most iconic hairstyle in football history. DB, with his cornrows, surpassed the likes of Ruud Gullit’s dreadlocks and Ronaldo Nazario’s bald haircut. However, the former English captain once recalled that he himself was not a big fan of those cornrows. DB deemed those braids a poor decision in his life. He regrets the style because he went to South Africa and chanced to meet with Nelson Mandela.

Beckham might have regretted getting those cornrows. But no other haircut in the soccer verse came close to that in a popular survey. Besides, the style still lives on, as youngsters like Erling Haaland and De Paul proudly flaunt their braids. Anyhow, Luis Suarez seems to think much like Becks. The two have a similar disdain for the otherwise sensational haircut.
