There was a lot of buzz regarding Lionel Messi‘s supposed relationship with journalist Sofi Martinez. There were even reports on how this would jeopardize his age-old relationship with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, with whom he has 3 sons. Fans all over the world were shocked by the story. However, it has since been confirmed that the story was fake. In fact, a simple exchange between the duo was blown out of proportion. Yet, Sofi Martinez still can’t seem to get over the incident. She explained that her ‘family suffers a lot‘ as a result.

She interviewed Lionel Messi at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and even at the recent Ballon d’Or ceremony. This led to plenty of clips circulating about them exchanging flirtatious glances. However, she has once again clarified her thoughts on the story.

Sofi Martinez admits to feeling ‘ridiculous’ while reacting to the Messi affair

In a recent interview with Argentine news channel C5N, the journalist shared her thoughts on the ‘ridiculous’ incident. Sofi Martinez said, “Many times when the exposure grows, things come that are not so good and my family suffers a lot. This year, people began to talk more and more loudly about ‘what’s up, how he looks at you’ those things and I was in the middle of something that I already feel ridiculous having”. Moreover, she clarified what makes her the most uncomfortable. She explained, “Shall I tell you the image I think? Messi or Antonela seeing what I have to say, I mean, what an idiot.”

It is worth noting that neither Lionel Messi nor Antonela has publicly spoken about the rumored affair. Finally, Martinez gave a message to the audience. “Tell them that Messi likes me, like Andy likes him, in fact, he gave him the first grade, he looks at him with the same eyes, the only thing that happens here, it’s just that I am a woman” quoted Martinez. The soccer legend shares the same friendly vibes with almost all other journalists with the only difference here being that Sofi is a woman. This is not the first time she has spoken on the matter. Back in November, she revealed her conversation with Antonela regarding the same.

‘She handles the madness’, Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela praised by Martinez

Back in November, the journalist had refuted the rumors surrounding her & Lionel Messi. Regarding the incident, she said that Antonela was never jealous of her interview with La Pulga. Martinez said, “No, zero. I don’t know where it comes from“, regarding the jealousy claims. She also praised, “How she(Antonela) handles the madness that is around her.”
