However, amid all the noise about the future of the French star, the Saudi giants have finalized the exit of another player who has been linked with West Ham United. The Premier League side has reportedly reached an agreement with them to sign Jota.
It looks like the Portuguese will soon follow the likes of Jordan Henderson out of Saudi Arabia. However, the exit of the Portuguese star after six months does raise questions about the recruitment strategy.

In the last summer transfer window, several European stars made their moves to Saudi League. One of them to make the move from Scottish giants Celtic was Jota to Karim Benzema’s Al Ittihad. However, it looks like the move has not worked out for either side. Hence, the People’s Club pulled the trigger on him in six months to recoup their losses. According to journalist Santi Aouna, they have agreed on a deal to let go of the 24-year-old to West Ham United. There is full agreement between the clubs and the player is waiting for the approval to travel for medicals. It remains unclear whether it is permanent or a loan deal.

The Hammers are currently sixth in the Premier League table. However, manager David Moyes will certainly hope that with the inclusions of Jota and Kalvin Philips this January, they can potentially push for the top four. As far as Jota is concerned, the 24-year-old has only eleven league games this season. Hence, the Portuguese star certainly will take time to get to full fitness to play the 90 minutes.
The move to West Ham United certainly gives Jota a second chance to restructure his career. As far as Al Ittihad is concerned, they could have a very busy last day in the January transfer window.
