In an interview, the PSG boss commented on his relationship with the Frenchman, claiming the two are as close as a player and coach can be.

Kylian Mbappe has been on fire in Ligue 1 this season. The player is currently leading the charge when it comes to the Golden Boot. The PSG ace has outscored all his rivals this season, finding the back of the net sixteen times, while Montpellier’s Akor Adams ranks second with seven goals to his name.

Luis Enrique speaks of his relationship with Kylian Mbappé!

While Luis Enrique has not shied away from calling out Kylian Mbappe following a few sub-par performances, the Spaniard believes he has a great relationship with the Frenchman. In an interview, the ex-Barcelona boss talked about the duo’s dynamics.

The PSG boss stated, “As always, we have a perfect relationship. We’re not a couple, but almost. Mainly because he’s the one who doesn’t want to (laughs). I don’t know why you keep asking me this question. I’m very close to most of my players. With Kylian from the start, we have always been close.” 

Enrique then added, “He is someone who makes jokes and always smiles. I am delighted with him and not only with Kylian but with everyone, even if I know that the players who play less are a little less happy. We have always been very close with Kylian.”

Kylian Mbappe has been nothing short of unstoppable for PSG this season. The player has emerged as the team’s top scorer across all competitions, bagging nineteen goals in twenty-one games.

While Kylian Mbappe might be in the final year of his contract with PSG, the player continues to become a cornerstone for the club. Moreover, Mbappe recently made history for the club as he crossed the 300-goal contribution landmark during his time at the club. During his five years at the club, Kylian Mbappe has already become the club’s top scorer, with 230 goals. Fans will hope that the club can manage to retain the player’s services before his contract expires in 2024. It will be interesting to see what lies in the future for the club if Kylian Mbappe decides to walk out as a free agent come summer.
