The bidding war for the NHL team Ottawa Senators continues to gather pace. There are some big names in the hat. Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds is rumored to be interested in the franchise as well. Although some other investors like Dwayne Johnson and other high-level players enter the race, it looks like the situation is reaching its climax. As the other players have better net worth value, an NHL insider Elliotte Friedman discussed why investors should not sleep on Reynolds. Hence, things look exciting for the future of the $800 million valuable franchise.

The sensational bidding war continues as the NHL commissioner Gary Bettman gave the latest reports. He explained how six bidders were in contention to take over the club. The Wrexham soccer club icon is a man on a mission!

Friedman squashed the concerns over Reynolds’ seriousness in entering the bidding war. He commented, “Initially, those around the NHL were excited about Reynolds because he’s Deadpool. Now, they’re excited because he’s Deadpool, he’s a smart businessman, he knows marketing and the “Wrexham Plan” would come to Ottawa with him.”

After the Mint Mobile sale to T-Mobile, Reynolds received considerable income from the massive deal. He had earlier invested in the company and knew about its potential. Similarly, most of his investments rise through the ranks and fetch him wealthy deals. Therefore, his current net worth is $350 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Thus, putting him down the list would not be a fair move. There are reports he joined the Remington Group to launch a bid for the Senators. Therefore, the plan to invest remains solid and concrete.

Although the market in Ottawa is comparatively low when analyzed with other teams, Reynolds can turn things around. He took over Wrexham in 2020 and took over a club that was in the lowest leagues of the English soccer pyramid. But now, the small town has gotten excited because they are potentially seven games away from promotion from the National League. A monumental achievement, nonetheless.

The owner improved the club’s reputation, brought in satisfactory merchandising revenues, and is expanding the Racecourse Ground, the home stadium. An additional 5,500 seats will be constructed to improve the stadium capacity. Hence, apart from the mesmerizing results, the whole vibe around the club has changed. Most of it is because of the current ownership of Ryan and Rob McElhenney. They have transformed the club from the perils of extinction. Thus, he could do the same with the Senators! Would he be able to?
