The promotion dream is complete. Wrexham is about to enter the EFL League Two in absolute confidence after a sensational victory. They gained promotion after 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears and now look motivated to stay up there. However, the task ahead is not easy. Phil Parkinson is working hard to get the club’s performance to a more elevated level in the upcoming season. Moreover, he wants to approach owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney for funds to improve the soccer club.

Like all teams, Wrexham aims to sign top players to keep them in League Two. For that, they would need to blend in experience and youth for the future. With the number of free agents in the market, Ryan would hope to loosen some strings and capture top players. The Wrexham boss is set for a showdown with Reynolds in order to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window.

According to BBC, Parkinson mentioned“We’ll speak to the owners about what we feel we need to improve going forward. We’ll touch base again towards the end of the week on that. We’ve got a strong squad that we will have to improve but not by a lot. We’ll be looking straight away at players and how the transfer market is looking of course.”

For getting players into the squad, some players may leave, as that’s how the transfer market goes. Thus, there is work to be done in the off-season to get the squad back in shape. One tried and tested method will prove to be effective for maintaining fitness and sharpness.

As their league campaign will end soon, the club will now look to take care of their pre-season friendlies. They have matches against the English Premier League side Chelsea and Manchester United in the summer and will play those games in the USA. Parkinson explained how those games would shape the squad he had on his mind. Parkinson mentioned, “I think we’ll be challenging but I’ll know more when I get into pre-season and see the shape of the squad.”
