Now, the director of the club has revealed how they managed to pull off the signing of Ronaldo amid the controversy at Manchester United.

When Ronaldo returned to Manchester United, it was a dream come true for millions of loyal supporters of the club. After all, he cemented his place as a United legend during his first stint at the club under Sir Alex Ferguson. However, following a fallout with Erik Ten Hag during the early stages of the 2022/23 season, he left by mutual consent. On the 22nd of November, the inevitable announcement happened; Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed his exit from Manchester United. After that, it was a question of where he would go next. Amid all the rumors, the Portuguese star announced he would join Saudi giants Al Nassr. Now, in an interview, Marcelo Salazar who is Al Nassr’s Executive Director has revealed how they signed one of the icons of the sport. He said, “We learned about Cristiano Ronaldo’s difficult time at Man Utd, and his desire to leave, and we in Saudi Arabia are dreamers, so we said why not sign him?”

After the move, expected criticism came from the experts, that Ronaldo was joining for the money. However, the Al Nassr star immediately shut the critics with his brilliant impact on the pitch. His goals are one of the main reasons, the Knights of Najd are in the title fight with rivals Al Hilal. The goals also helped him save his career with the Portugal national team.

Hence, for Cristiano Ronaldo, it has been nothing but positive vibes after moving to Saudi Arabia. As far as his Manchester United chapter is concerned, the Knights of Najd executive director indirectly trolled the Red Devils.

Al Nassr’s executive director takes a huge dig at Manchester United

When Cristiano Ronaldo signs for a club, the expectations are immense. The case for the Saudi giants was no different. Al Nassr’s owners wasted no time and improved the team with several signings like Otavio, Brozovic, and others. They also got the perfect managerial appointment in the form of Luis Castro. In the interview, Marcelo Salazar also added when Saudi Arabia makes promises, they fulfill them and Cristiano Ronaldo is aware of that.

In an early interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo had said that he felt betrayed by the Red Devils because of the lack of progress. Ronaldo had stated that he felt the club hadn’t evolved and that in terms of infrastructure and facilities, a lot hadn’t changed since the early years of his first stint at United.

The statement from the Al Nassr executive could be a dig at the fact that the Premier League giants failed to keep the 38-year-old happy.
