Inter Miami eked out a win over their rivals to stay alive in the Leagues Cup. Fans and the Herons were ecstatic with Lionel Messi’s performance yet again in the exciting match that was decided on penalties. Despite the win, the head coach was not satisfied with the team and slammed them for the sloppy play in the cup tie.
The Herons were facing a two-goal deficit in the 80th minute against FC Dallas and it seemed like they were on the verge of defeat. Beckham’s side would have been actually eliminated from the Leagues Cup last night if it wasn’t for Lionel Messi’s late intervention. In the post-match interview, Gerardo Martino acknowledged the team’s defensive flaws and room for improvement in the upcoming fixtures.
