Kylian Mbappe is not fretting over his future. Following the clash against Germany, the PSG star said, “My future is no longer a topic at the club. No one talks to me about it anymore.” However, the reality is PSG’s greatest-ever goalscorer is yet to pen a new contract, with his current one expiring in June. As per reports, Real Madrid is firmly in the driver’s seat. Hence, could the Parisian club really be that relaxed about the future of its most valuable asset? PSG’s star, Fabian Ruiz explains the situation inside the club.
Speaking on the Spanish soccer show El Chiringuito de Jugones, Ruiz offered a diplomatic answer regarding Kylian Mbappe’s future. He said (via Google Translate), “I don’t think there were any goodbyes. We don’t talk to him about his future. He’s a very important player for us.” Surprisingly, the Spanish midfielder also claimed to not know much regarding the Frenchman’s links with Real Madrid. Ruiz said, “If Mbappé would fit in well in a locker room like that of Real Madrid? I can’t answer you because we don’t know what his future will hold.”

A possible reason why Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid are yet to make an official confirmation could be the upcoming Euro 2024. Having lost the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the last moment, the PSG winger would want to approach the tournament with a calm mind. Regardless of the Frenchman’s future, one thing is certain. His club’s manager, Luis Enrique is already preparing for life without the prolific attacker.

He explained, “We have to get used to not playing with Kylian; sooner or later it will happen.” Moreover, he also sent a defiant message to the squad ahead of the next season.
