They also rumored the star to be dating the Kansas City NFL star Travis Kills. But this time, her interest has moved to one of soccer’s oldest clubs, Notts County. However, in a statement issued by the club, it rejected any intention of selling the club to anyone.

According to an X post from the club’s official page, it stated, “As sorry as we are to disappoint the Swifties in our fanbase, we’re going to have to shake this story off. There’s certainly no bad blood between ourselves and Taylor, but at such an exciting time for us and the club, she surely couldn’t have believed in her wildest dreams that we would relinquish our control.”

The tweet ended, “We’ll leave a blank space in tomorrow’s pre-match playlist for a track from her newly re-released 1989 album as a gesture of gratitude for her interest.”

The club has politely denied the reports by apologizing to the singer’s fans, Swifties, first. Moreover, they clarified it had nothing to do with Taylor Swift personally. The club also mentioned that they wouldn’t like to change the current ownership. In revealing the disappointing news, the club also offered to play one of her songs at the pre-match as a sign of appreciating her interest.

Notts County FC is one of the oldest clubs in English soccer. It was one of the founding members of the English Football League and currently plays in EFL League Two. The club is the rival of Wrexham AFC, owned by Swift’s friend, Ryan Reynolds. The two teams got promoted to the EFL League Two, the 4th tier of English soccer.

Although there is no official statement from the singer, Weekend Sport magazine reported her interest in purchasing the club like her friend Ryan Reynolds. After Reynolds’s success in buying Wrexham and transforming it, Taylor’s attempt was, however, shattered.
