QSI bought majority stakes in Ligue1 giant PSG in 2021. They became the sole owner of the club in March 2012, and QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi was named the President of the club. Since the takeover, QSI has made an enormous investment in the club to date. They have broken the bank twice to land Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr to win the coveted UEFA Champions League. They also landed Lionel Messi to create a star-studded attack.

However, despite bringing the superstars to the team, they are yet to win the Champions League. PSG has been subject to criticism for the way they run the club and for not getting the desired success in Europe. Recently, a former Manchester United superstar criticized the Paris club.

Patrice Evra slams Ligue1 giant

Patrice Evra was recently on RMC talking to Jerome Rothen. He spoke on various topics like Kylian Mbappe’s captaincy, Didier Deschamps, and PSG. He was critical of the ownership of the PSG and its Hollywood culture.

“In the stands, you don’t see Bernard Lama, but Kardashians and company. It’s a show business club,” Evra said. “Football is not the priority, no. When I go to see a match in Paris, it’s to see a concert. I’m in VIP, champagne, petit fours,” Evra added.

“But guys, where are the old ones? When you go to United, on the seat, there is written Evra, the name of legends. There is no Leonardo Di Caprio who will come to see the match. We are not in Hollywood,” Evra said, slamming the club. It disappointed him that PSG doesn’t have special seats for their legends.

The United legend also shared what former PSG player Dani Alves said to him, “It was Dani Alves at the time who said to me “But Pat, they are never going to win the Champions League. Come on, we’re rock stars”. PSG is trying everything to win the Champions League and has reached the final only once since the QSI takeover.
