He said, “There is no country in the world that has a schedule to play a match every two days. We never train. We only rely on video analysis and player recovery. This is unreasonable, but we are forced to do it.”

Castro insists consecutive fixtures not only leave players and coaches struggling to maintain peak performance but also hinder their ability to dedicate valuable time to training. Indeed, these are some bold claims from the 62-year-old. Castro’s rival coaches would also resonate with his words.
