The Grammy Award winner performed on Jimmy Fallon’s television show. It was also her first live performance since 2020. While the fans weren’t the most appreciative after her live performance, the singer recently bumped into a fan in America.

Another individual took images of Shakira and the fan from a distance. The Latin American star seemingly started crying while she conversed with her fan.

The American fans were excited to see Shakira in the US after quite a few years. Apart from the appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, the Colombian star is also planning a permanent move to America soon. This is in context to her broken relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Gerard Pique. The 46-year-old feels that it is necessary to move away from the toxic environment in Spain.

After her appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s show, a fan pictured Shakira in an M&M store in New York. However, the fans were stunned after the singer burst into tears whilst speaking to the fan. Nobody still knows what the two of them actually spoke about but the Latin American star getting emotional randomly in public just seemed fairly unusual.

The pictures of the Grammy Award winner and the fan immediately went viral. This interaction probably just happened the next morning after her live performance. Probably because she was still in the black leather pants that she wore for her performance.

Apart from that, her fans were eagerly waiting for her to feature on the Jimmy Fallon show. However, she received severe backlash just hours after her live performance.

Shakira’s much-awaited live performance went slightly sour after the fans openly criticized her on social media. This happened just hours after her performance. Jimmy Fallon’s show posted the video of her performance on social media. The fans criticized the Latin American singer for using ‘playback’ and ‘autotune’. Nobody expected the Grammy Award winner to do such a thing.

A few fans genuinely tried to figure out why she did that. They asked her why she’d opt for using autotune or playback even after having such a beautiful voice. The Waka–Waka singer is yet to comment on the same. However, this wasn’t the first time a renowned artist was criticized for a ‘low effort’ live performance. A month ago, even Rihanna received severe backlash soon after the Super Bowl halftime show.
