After earning her record-breaking 200th cap for USWNT in November, the tournament organizers honored Alex Morgan before the match. It became a cherished moment for the 33-year-old who made her debut in 2010. There was a frame containing Morgan’s jersey on display. The back of the jersey mentioned 200 caps and had photos of her illustrious career.
Therefore, the fans applauded her in excitement as players from both teams joined the celebrations. In her total appearances, the soccer superstar scored 120 goals and 47 assists and ranked fifth all-time in the USWNT scoring charts. She is also the 13th player from USWNT to reach this feat. In fact, the tournament could also witness Megan Rapinoe reaching her 200th cap if she makes three more appearances.

Her daughter Charlie gave her a rose while donning the USWNT jersey with ‘Mom’ written behind it with the number 200 on her back. Her parents and husband, Servando Carrasco, joined in the celebration for her landmark moment.

She made her 200th cap during USWNT’s win over Germany on November 13, 2022. She was excited and could not hold back her words. According to Just Women’s Sports, she stated, “I almost feel like 100 was just a couple years ago. And before that, my first cap. I never take anything for granted and I’m just fortunate and grateful to continue to be here representing the country and now as one of the most capped players and one of the veterans on the team.”
Since making her debut, Morgan became the mainstay of the national team. Along with Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach, and Carli Lloyd, these four players propelled USWNT to an Olympic gold medal victory in 2012. After that, she won two World Cups with the team in 2015 and 2019. It became an iconic moment for the team. After that, the USWNT became one of the best soccer powerhouses in recent times.
