A defender from Sheffield United has slammed the Ryan Reynolds-owned side. He felt that the side was too keen on just having a fairytale story and wanted to shut them up. It is surprising to see a new take from a rival’s perspective, who seems disillusioned with the hype around Wrexham.

Wrexham surprised fans with their tenacity as the Ryan Reynolds-owned side managed to move out of the National League. There was a lot of hope during the season, with fans clamouring around a fairytale story. However, not everyone was feeling the glitters with the hype around the Welsh outfit.
Anel Ahmedhodzic touched down on playing Wrexham last season in a recent interview. While the defender struggled in the first fixture, he was back to his top shape in the replays. Ahmedhodzic was less than amused with the constant chatter surrounding Wrexham and their fairytale story.

Wrexham and Sheffield United had two nail-biting encounters in the 4th round of the FA Cup. While fans were expecting Sheffield to cruise through Wrexham, the Ryan Reynolds-owned side held their opponents to a 3-3 draw, forcing them to head into replays.
Sheffield United avoided a narrow upset against the Red Dragons
Wrexham were on fire last season as they topped the National League with over 100 points to bag qualification to League Two. However, the team also had the chance to cause a major upset in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Drawn against Sheffield United, Wrexham almost stunned the side in the first game.

However, much to the outcry of the Wrexham fans Sheffield United’s John Egan put the brakes on what could have been a big win for Wrexham. With the game levelled, the two teams once again met each other in a replay clash. This time around Sheffield United was ready for the Red Dragons as they managed to get out of their stupor and rout the Ryan Reynolds side 3-1.
