However, when playing under Hayes, there’s a key rule you should be aware of; They work hard but play harder. Of course, inspiring the group is one thing but the most important part of the English tactician’s playbook is to let the players enjoy themselves. Also, it also goes without saying that she isn’t the only one who should be excited for the next chapters.

“I’m very much looking forward to doing that work in this period of time but I want everybody to be excited about a team because they’re great humans. They’re great soccer players and I want fans to come out and give them all the love and the joy that they deserve,” concluded Hayes.

Well, the next step isn’t just about Emma Hayes jotting down a new game plan on the tactical board for the American ladies; it also involves carefully choosing a group of players to participate in upcoming tournaments. What better way to do this than by assessing talent in the domestic game across the USA?

“There will be several meetings, sort of up and down the country as well internally to make sure we set the right course,” said Hayes, while speaking to the Attacking Third earlier.

“Then, start the beginning of the year with what we are calling the future, where we’ll get the opportunity to see some of the best talent both within and out of the NWSL and the U20 level where hopefully, we could identify future talent for the USWNT. So quite a lot of work to do,” she added, noting the potential players who could join her squad.

With that said, it seems we can expect significant changes to the roster in preparation for the next World Cup and the upcoming Olympics.
