Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney introduced Wrexham AFC to Hollywood. After the celebrity takeover, the community and the players saw many stars embracing the SToK Cae Rac last season. And Reynolds’ Spirited co-star Will Ferrell was one of those who enjoyed a trip to North Wales earlier this year.

The Reds boss unexpectedly got a question over Will Ferrell recently on a podcast. Phil Parkinson shared his experience from Ferrell’s first visit with praise. But when the hosts asked Parkinson about Will Ferrell wanting to join Wrexham, he couldn’t help but joke about the possibility.

Last year Ryan Reynolds made a promise to fans. He wanted his co-star Will Ferrell to bring to Racecourse. It was after the duo attended Wrexham’s FA Trophy final against Bromley. David Beckham also accompanied the Hollywood stars. It wasn’t a great result for the Reds as they lost the game. Meanwhile, the next time Will Ferrell visited the Wrexham game, they emerged victorious.

Will Ferrel is not new to soccer. The Hollywood star owns a minority stake in the $1 billion valued LAFC. His soccer knowledge is immense, and Parkinson got a taste of it in February. Recalling the meeting with Ferrell at Cae Rac, Parkinson said“I spoke to Will Ferrell in my office actually before the game. He came in for a chat. He just came in, and I had a chat with him about football, and he was very knowledgeable,” while speaking to Men In The Blazers Podcast.

Parkinson also shared Ferrell’s curiosity as he asked about Wrexham and its players. He wanted to know more despite watching a couple of games. But then the hosts referred to Ferrell’s interview where he stated he wants to be the American player of the Reds Parkinson sarcastically said, “I think his wages might be the problem.” Meanwhile, the LAFC co-owner enjoyed his time in Wrexham in February.

Ryan Reynolds trolling welcome and a pint with the fans: Will Ferrell had it all

The Spirited Star visited Cae Rac on February 11 for the National League game against Wealdstone. He got a befitting welcome from the Wrexham executives and staff. However, it was the welcome from Reynolds that caught the eye of many. The Deadpool star took to Instagram and wrote“Welcome 3 times golden lederhosen award winner Will Ferrell to the Racecourse Ground for today’s match,” taking a friendly dig.

Before the game, Ferrell enjoyed a pint with fans at the iconic The Turf. He had a brief discussion with the fans. The Hollywood star also invaded the dressing room, which stunned the players and staff. Overall, Ferrell left an impression on everybody during his short trip.
