Virgil van Dijk, in an exclusive interview, paid tribute to the German before issuing an indirect warning to all the competition. He did admit that the squad couldn’t dwell much into it as they possessed a ‘focus on business‘ mindset.

During his time, the German tactician has achieved immense success with the club, helping them bag the EPL title after a long wait of thirty years. The Liverpool skipper was hit as hard as the supporters after Jurgen Klopp decided to step down come summer. Van Dijk reacted to Klopp’s exit while paying homage to the manager. He stated, “It’s a hard one to take, because the manager means so much for us, to me, to the club, to the whole Premier League, I think. But he made the decision for him and his family. It was always going to be a tough one, and it was definitely the case.”

Virgil Van Dijk then stated the club would do its best to end things on a positive note with Jurgen Klopp. “Yeah, he told us in private, of course, and all of us were together. Like I said, it’s a hard one to take, but our mindset is to focus on business. We have a lot of targets still to achieve this year and why not finish the season on a high and together with celebrations for the boss as well?“, expressed the club’s captain.

The Reds will be on the hunt for the second half of the second as they chase multiple accolades. Liverpool is currently on top of the Premier League standings. Jurgen Klopp’s men are alive and kicking across all competitions and technically have the chance to make history.
