It all began with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who, during a free-kick practice session with Chelsea U18 player Yahya Idrissi-Regragui, scored a brilliant top-right corner goal. Idrissi-Regragui even shared this impressive moment on social media. Cristiano Ronaldo, in turn, recently posted a video on Instagram, replicating a similar free-kick as his son’s, from the same spot and banging it into the same side of the goalpost.
Following the successful kick, the Real Madrid legend gestured towards the camera, exclaiming, “Cris, this was better than yours,” and then inserted his iconic “Siuuu” celebration. The caption of the video reads, “Cris, Watch and Learn. sssiiiimmmm.” This whole moment caught the eyes of Cristiano Ronaldo’s prime fanatics Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, who liked the post just minutes after it surfaced on the internet, bringing out their inner CR7 fanboy.

Ronaldo Jr has inherited a useful habit of hitting the back of the net and the kind of quick feet his father once boasted. But there is more to it. Back in September 2021 when his son joined the Red Devil Academy, the then 11-year-old imitated his father’s “siuuu” celebration while playing for Manchester United U-12 against EF Girones Sabat in Costa Brava (Spain). This was right after finding the net in the 68th minute of the match which his side won convincingly with a 5-0 score.

However, it’s not the first time Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo have been vocal about their admiration for CR7. Months ago, the two hailed the Al Nassr skipper’s hattrick against Al Akhdoud. Likewise, the feeling is reciprocated by Cristiano Ronaldo’s side, as the 38-year-old has often made heartwarming gestures for the two of them.

This touching act of generosity took place following the Brazilian’s injury during the World Cup qualifiers against Colombia. A year ago, CR7 clicked a special picture with Rodrygo, where the young winger wrote, “Meeting my biggest idol.” Before yesterday’s Supercopa de Espana semifinal between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, the Brazilian received Ronaldo’s no. 7 white Al Nassr jersey from a fan, which the 23-year-old gladly accepted.
