The USMNT may have secured a statement win over Jamaica but it’s Christian Pulisic who remains the spotlight. Aside from scoring a brilliant first-half brace for the Stars and Stripes to contribute to the 4-2 triumph, the skipper celebrated so by doing a Donald Trump-inspired dance. While it has left the whole of America talking, an unseen clip shows Pulisic wasn’t alone in doing so.
We aren’t saying the whole team, but the feeling must be mutual among all the starting XI. For those not aware, Pulisic opened the scoring for his team with a tidy finish 13 minutes into the game, courtesy of an assist from Weston McKennie. After netting the goal, the AC Milan star dashed to the corner to celebrate, leaping into the air, spreading his arms, shaking his hips, and motioning with his hands near his waist. His dance lasted a few seconds before teammates joined in, congratulating him with hugs and pats on the back.
While it made Pulisic take the hit from a few fans online, a new clip shared by one of the fans sitting at one of the stands in St. Louis, Missouri-based CITYPARK shows there just might be others involved. Speaking of the names, they are Yunus Musah, Weston McKennie, and Ricardo Pepi. The trio were the first ones to join their fellow teammate in celebrating the opener and when Pulisic was doing so with his Trump dance, Musah, McKennie, and Pepi also followed suit.

Others must have also been tipped to do the same but that couldn’t happen as others came just to pat the backs of Mr. Captain America. Well, if it were in the hands of the American boys, they would have done so on every goalscoring occasion. Notably, after Pulisic’s first goal, the AC Milan star doubled his side’s lead during the half-hour mark, courtesy of a second assist from McKennie.
It was minutes before the halftime that Ricardo Pepi made it 3-0. Although the latter half saw Demarai Gray netting breaking the deadlock just around the hour mark, Timothy Weah quadrupled the USMNT’s lead. Sadly, Gray’s efforts to add another and inspire a comeback for Jamaica went in vain as the final saw Pochettino and Co. progress through the finals on a 5-2 aggregate.
Then again, it seems Pulisic’s Trump-inspired dance has overshadowed the victory as the main talking point. While some praised the celebration, others expressed frustration and turned against the former Borussia Dortmund star. Fortunately, Alexi Lalas was quick to step in and defend the USMNT captain.

Alexi Lalas comes in support of Christian Pulisic over Donald Trump celebration!
Alexi Lalas quickly came to Christian Pulisic’s defense after seeing online criticism of the 26-year-old. The former defender took to X (formerly Twitter) and passionately tweeted, “Pulisic scores. Pulisic does the Trump dance. We’re winning the World Cup…bigly. 🇺🇸⚽️,” while sharing a collage of Pulisic’s dance.
Lalas’ support didn’t stop there. When a fan questioned him, asking, “Hey @AlexiLalas how will you handle not being the most hated Trump-supporting American soccer player?!” Lalas responded, “I’m comfortable being the OG. Plenty of room. Besides, it’s not only easy now, it’s even becoming cool.”

As a steadfast Donald Trump supporter who actively campaigned for the 78-year-old throughout the summer, it’s no surprise Lalas was excited to see the USMNT captain perform Trump’s shimmy dance. Naturally, Lalas felt compelled to defend the Serie A star.
