Fans would rarely be mald over a match in the Canadian league. It is not that popular outside of the Maple nation. Many would not even have known that Canada has a soccer league. But this story helps put them on the map.
The most bizarre soccer moment
This story is from the land of Mounties and maple syrup, where Valour FC was facing HFX Wanderers in the Canadian Premier League. In the 18th minute, valor’s John dyer gave an amazing pass to Alessandro Riggi. Riggi tricked the goalkeeper, sent the ball toward the goal line, and somehow parked over the keeper into the post before the ball. The ball was just over the line and no HFX player was near the ball.
Mere milliseconds away from the goal, Riggi’s teammate William Akio decided to become his own antagonist this time. He swooped in and cleared the ball, stopping it from crossing the goal line. Before talking more about the game, here is how fans reacted to the ‘fine sporting’.

What happened next?
As it was clear from the clip, Valour FC could have had a goal for themselves, but someone messed up. Riggi was able to score a goal later in the game and the match ended up 1-0 for Valour FC. Just imagine if they somehow ended up losing this one!

Watch this story: Messi’s Incredible Dribbling Runs
Well, it gave us a laugh. Probably a heart attack to fans and a lot of anger to the players of Valour FC. Even CBC covered the story as the soccer world was spiraling. This is soccer for you; confusing and BP-raising, but still the biggest sport in the world.
