The World Cup is going to the next round and matches for the round of 16 are all done. We have eight of the quarter-finalists confirmed and all the fixtures are ready. Morocco and Portugal went to the next round after winning their matches. Morocco vs. Spain ended in a draw after extra time. After a penalty shootout, Morocco came out on top with a score of 3-0. Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou became his team’s hero after stopping Spain from scoring a single goal. Alternatively, Portugal beat Switzerland in a very one-sided match by 6-1. Unfortunately, Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t start the game, but he came on as a sub in the 73rd minute and fans went crazy cheering for their favorite star.

Gonçalo Ramos scored three goals for Portugal in the 17th’ 51st’ and 67th minutes. With contributions from Pepe, Raphael Guerreiro, and Rafael Leao, Portugal will face Morocco in the next round of the World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo walked off the pitch
Fans may be having Tottenham flashbacks because the plot is very similar. However, Ronaldo walked to the ground and played. We saw a goalless performance from him and it seemed it might have frustrated him and went off the ground as soon as the match concluded. Portugal coach Fernando Santos talked about his decision and said it was just strategic, nothing else. He added, “I said that it was closed, and it was closed. Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the world playing professionally and as a captain … so we have to just think about this team collectively..”
