The Saudi Super Cup between Al Hilal and Al Nassr is underway. Fans can witness both sides pushing each other’s buttons to break the deadlock in the Riyadh Derby. However, Knights of Najd star Cristiano Ronaldo seems to have gotten caught up in the intensity of the match, to the extent that he is playing for himself, squandering vital opportunities. This self-centered approach has left his teammate, Marcelo Brozovic, visibly frustrated.
A viral clip of the match showcases the Portuguese superstar receiving the ball near the right corner of Al Hilal’s defense. Even after three defenders held their ground in the penalty box, Ronaldo did a few step-overs and boldly took a shot from his weaker foot, only to see it go wide of the goal. The attempt was taken from such a tight angle that even a left-footed player would have struggled to find the back of the net. However, more than the attempt, the reaction from Brozovic caught the eye.
As Ronaldo made the shot and fell to the ground, the Croatian midfielder detectably waved his hands up in the air in frustration. In fact, this wasn’t the first time Brozovic gave such a reaction. Earlier, CR7 took another audacious left-foot attempt from just ahead of the center half of the pitch, leading his midfielder teammate to draw a similar reaction.

Within the opening ten minutes against Al Hilal, Cristiano Ronaldo had numerous chances to create promising goal-scoring opportunities for his side. However, rather than involving his teammates, the skipper appears to have taken control of the game himself. It is an approach that isn’t proving beneficial in building his case.
Clearly, expectations of reaching the final of the Saudi Super Cup have become no less than a burden on Ronaldo. It is advised that, as the team leader, he should consider involving his teammates in the goal-scoring process. Failing to do so would backfire on his team, which could result in another humiliation against their arch-rivals.
