Al Nassr has never won a King Cup of Champions since their last triumph in 1990. Now, Cristiano Ronaldo and co. have got another shot at the prestigious tournament. In a few more hours, Al Nassr will face Al Shabab in a do-or-die quarterfinals match of the Kings Cup. Last day, Al Shabab received a huge respite, as two crucial midfielders escaped a potential match ban and are match-ready now. As the quarterfinal is no walk in the park for Ronaldo and teammates, a bunch of journalists warn Al Nassr to be prepared.
The Al Alami last met Al Shabab in a league match in August. Then Ronaldo and the party outclassed Al Shabab 4-0. That, however, is a story of the past. Few Saudi journalists now asserted that Al Nassr is not at their best, and Al Shabab is used to giving tough fights.

Ahead of the King Cup quarterfinals, Al Nassr’s Al Shabab clash became a talking point on Saudi Arabian TV. Speaking of the teams, soccer journalist Ahmed Al Aqeel pointed out Al Nassr is not in their best form lately. “Youth [Al Nassr] is not at its best, and victory over Al-Nassr is not impossible. Victory is characterized by individual solutions,” said Ahmed Al Aqeel. Meanwhile, fellow journalist Tariq Kayal asserted that Al Nassr’s offensive lineup is well-equipped. Thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Anderson Talisca.

However, he added that Al Shabab is ‘accustomed’ to giving Al Nassr a tough fight. Kayal’s statement on Al Shabab sounds a bit conflating because Al Shabab lost 4-0 the last time they faced Ronaldo and party. However, Ahmed Al Aqeel’s observation of Al Nassr’s form was quite the right one. Let us now dive deeper into Al Nassr’s recent form.

Al Nassr’s form in recent outings
We can not totally deem Al Nassr’s recent outings lackluster. They managed to secure 2 wins in the last 5 games and settled for two draws and a humiliating defeat. However, fans expect much more consistency from Al Nassr, given the star-studded roster they boast. Al Nassr drew in their last two AFC Champions League outings, and concerns apparently loom over their capabilities in continental clashes.
