Former Al Nassr manager Rudi Garcia recently compared his team’s star, Victor Osimhen, to Ronaldo. Earlier, the French coach was relieved of his duties at the Jeddah-based club. However, shortly after that, Napoli brought him in as Luciano Spalletti’s replacement, who left this summer.
While speaking to DAZN Heroes, Garcia was asked to comment on his team’s star, Osimhen, to which he compared him with Ronaldo. As per Goal Italy and as translated by DeepL, he said, “He is a crazy dragger: as soon as you put some competition on the field he wants to win and drags his team with him. He’s a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo: when he wins he’s so happy, he calls the team and wants to take the souvenir photo.”
He continued, “I like him very much: he is part of one of the best in the world among center forwards. And in fact, I read that some people wanted him, something like that….”. While revealing that several teams are interested in him, Garcia backed him as one of the best strikers in the world.
Indeed, it’s quite an interesting take from Garcia, who compared Ronaldo’s mentality to Osimhen’s. Meanwhile, shortly after the Frenchman left Al Nassr, the Middle Eastern side won their first silverware alongside Ronaldo.

CR7 wins first silverware with Al Nassr
Earlier this week, Ronaldo finally opened his silverware account and won his first trophy with Al Nassr. The Portuguese scored a brace that helped his side clinch a 2-1 victory against Al Hilal, thus getting their hands on the Arab Club Champions League trophy. Not just Ronaldo, but it was also Al Nassr’s first Arab Champions League win.
Likewise, the tournament ended on both a high and low note for Ronaldo. While he finished as the top-scorer of the championship with six goals, he also picked up a knee injury. The 38-year-old even missed the Saudi Pro League clash against Al Ettifaq. It is still unknown how long he will remain out of action. But let’s hope it isn’t for too long, as it may affect Al Nassr’s domestic run.
