Out of all the players in Wrexham, Paul Mullin remains the sensational forward to help them with their promotional push. He scored 46 goals last season in all competitions, leading the team from the front. After arriving from Cambridge United, he has improved every year to become the star striker for his soccer club. Hopefully, a national team call-up from Wales would be the cherry on the ice cake. But if you dive deeper into his soccer roots, he is a massive fan of Liverpool.
The striker enjoyed games with his father donning the Liverpool scarves in his teenage years and also played in the youth games with their rivals, Everton. The Merseyside derby is etched into his heart as he explained his love for the club in a recent interview.

In the interview, he opened a box containing a Liverpool and an Everton scarf. Out of which, he put the Everton scarf away and opened up his memories about the six-time European champions. He stated, “That scarf actually reminds me of going to the Liverpool games back in the day. I used to always have literally that scarf everywhere I go and I used to take that around when I was a kid. I’d be like 12 and it would be sunny and I’d be like after, I don’t know and I’d have to run and get it.”
Mullin adores the club and took a sly dig at their rivals by stating, “Very nearly a championship club.” In fact, both clubs had a season to forget last year, as Liverpool fell out of the UEFA Champions League while Everton barely survived on the final day, threatened with relegation. As both clubs’ fortunes have turned massively, they share an intense rivalry. Mullin started his Everton journey and didn’t have a preference for the club he played for.

Mullin continued, “When I was a kid, basically I was playing with my brother’s mates. And a scout asked if I wanted to go down. I just wanted to play football and didn’t care who it was. Obviously, I just wanted to play football. But I have always supported Liverpool. My dad always took me everywhere watching them and we used to go all over Europe. And he gave me some of the best days of my life, watching Liverpool.”

Wrexham forward hates the Manchester clubs
As this year’s FA Cup final saw Manchester City and Manchester United take on each other for the grand prize, Mullin didn’t fare for each of these clubs. As a Liverpool fan, the rivalry between the Reds and the Red Devils is massive. They have an intense competitive rivalry and continue to have high-class matches. Recently, Liverpool handed a 7-0 thumping to United in Anfield to shock the soccer fraternity.
Therefore, he wanted both clubs to lose in the final but was determined to see Erling Haaland perform well. As a striker, he admires the Norwegian striker for his stunning feats in front of the goal. To sum up, his roots are deeply invested in the Merseyside club, but his heart currently remains with the Wrexham soccer club.
