USWNT Star Megan Rapinoe Heaps Praise on 6x Women’s Player of the Year Believing She Is “The Greatest Player” Ever

USWNT star Megan Rapinoe showers her praises on Brazil soccer star Marta. Marta made her return to the Brazil squad in the SheBelieves Cup. The 37-year-old was out of action for almost eleven months following her injury. In the NWSL pre-season in March 2022, Marta tore her ACL forcing her out of action. However, she has her eyes set on this year’s World Cup and which will be the sixth one for this legendary prayer.

Marta Vieira da Silva, commonly known as Marta, is widely considered the best female soccer player of all time. With 17 goals in the FIFA World Cup, she holds the record for most goals scored in the tournament by a man or a woman. In addition, she is a six-time FIFA Women’s Player of the Year recipient, cementing her status as one of the greatest athletes in history.

Megan Rapinoe praises Marta

Despite all of her accomplishments, Marta is often overshadowed by her male counterparts. In a recent interview, USWNT star Megan Rapinoe heaped praise on the Brazilian legend. “Marta’s just the greatest player, I think, that’s ever played our game,” Rapinoe said.

Rapinoe also believes Marta along with the current Brazillian squad is a force to be reckoned with. “Being able to couple that old-head wisdom of Marta with players like Debinha, Kerolin, it’s just crazy,” she said. “Obviously, they’ve proven it in the league and at the international level. They’re just really an annoying handful all the time”.

It’s hard to argue with Rapinoe’s assessment. Marta is a once-in-a-generation talent, and her accomplishments speak for themselves.

USWNT is the SheBelieves Cup winner

The United States Women’s National Soccer team has once again etched its name as the winner of the SheBelieves Cup. This is the sixth time that they have been crowned as the champion of this tournament. The final game was against Brazil where the USWNT won with a score of 2-1.

The team’s captain, Alex Morgan who created history, and Mallory Swanson were the ones who contributed to the goals. Swanson was also hailed as the MVP of the tournament for her remarkable performance not just in the game against Brazil, but throughout the whole cup with four goals.
