FIFA announced the USWNT’s soccer schedule at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Wednesday. While the USMNT plays on the opening day of Olympic soccer- July 24, the tournament will only start on July 25 for the women. The USWNT features in the tournament’s Group B, awaiting a headline clash against Germany. This Olympic edition marks new boss, Emma Hayes’ first competitive tournament with the team.
The USWNT last won the Olympic Gold in 2012. They faced a QF exit in 2016. Meanwhile, the US team finished with a Bronze in 2020. With a young core catapulting the US’ CONCACAF W Gold Cup win, they looked poised to run deep in the Paris-based tournament.

Their first Group B game kicks off at Stade de Nice on July 25. Emma Hayes’ side would face the winner of a 2-leg playoff between Morocco and Zambia. On July 28, the US plays the 2016 gold medalists- Germany in Stade de Marseille. Once again, the Stade de Marseille will host the USWNT, as they play the Australia on July 31. Should the USWNT finish in the Top 2 slots in Group B, they will qualify for the QFs.
Apart from the USWNT’s group, three other groups feature in the tournament. If the US finishes first in Group B, they face Group C’s 2nd seed. If the US finishes second, they face Group A’s 2nd seed. Notably, the USWNT has never failed to qualify for the Olympic QFs. Besides, the only time the USWNT faced a quarter-final exit was in 2016. The match between the USWNT and the winner of the Morocco-Zambia tie kicks off at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT. The USWNT-Germany tie also begins at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT. Meanwhile, the US side’s clash against the Matildas starts at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. Fans can live-stream all Olympic games on FIFA+ and FIFA.com. The matches are available on the FIFA+ and Fast Channel in select territories, including the United States.
The USWNT is the most successful women’s soccer team at the Olympics. They have 4 Olympic Gold medals in 7 tournaments. They also boast an Olympic Silver and an Olympic Bronze in their cabinet. Besides, the women’s team, unlike its men’s counterpart, is not restricted to a U23 team.
